Okay, so, who else has joined this bandwagon and got yourselves a copy of E-Squared by Pam Grout? I DID, I DID! I dislike falling for a hype or trend… cause then it means I just became unoriginal and a follower, yuck!
I couldn’t help it! There were SO MANY reviews and the average reviews equaled to 4.5 stars out of 5!!! WHA??? So, of course, I had to get it… this is one of those times that reminds me of my love/hate relationship with reviews–I’m sure you know what I’m talking about… especially for any of those who have gone on Amazon to buy anything!
Speaking of Amazon…
I got mine in a Kindle version =) I love e-books!! No more achy elbows and finding the perfect position for my body while holding a hardcover/paperback anymore! I digress…
I did begin reading with some skepticism, but when I delved deeper and deeper into its grasp, I find myself doing the experiments and discovering that 93% of them have resulted in positive outcomes (GASP!!)! Could it really be?? Could it be that my thought TRULY manifests my world? My immediate environment?? Is it that the only thing truly standing in my own way in achieving anything I desire are my thoughts/doubts?
Pfft! I’ll tell you what buddy… each time I’m coming upon a result that I thought of (may not be as I expected but definitely in my favor) I’m becoming more and more convinced of the true power of our thoughts! I mean, I’ve always believed in how ‘thoughts turn into things’ and all the different variations of the same saying, but to test HOW true it REALLY is, is kind of shocking to me. But, yet, I still have doubts… and why? According to Pam Grout, it’s because I have been habitually acting in ways to protect myself from feeling disappointment or believing that something things don’t just appear out of thin air. I know that latter comment sounds out there but I don’t mean it in the sense of reaching my fingers into thin air and then suddenly having a $100 bill in my fingers… it’s about how the energy of our thoughts bring about the things we seek–good and bad–whether intentionally or unintentionally and consciously or unconsciously. We all know how hard it can be to break a habit… ask them cig smokers or overeaters.
I haven’t finished this book yet, but, at the end, I’m sure my thinking will slightly have altered from having been glued to the screen of my iPhone.
But… it does make me wonder if all the results I am experiencing from experimenting is because I want to believe the theory to be real. Because, really, who doesn’t want to just think something and have it work out?? So, in a way, maybe it’s just our focus or perception that’s shifted… hmm… something to consider as I continue my experiments.
